With a first-class combination of 20 drivers and a 5-way crossover, the Epitome perfectly combines the ethereal quality of electrostatic drivers with the precision of balanced armature drivers.
The sound is beautiful and natural, offering you a realistic sound image.
The hypoallergenic resin shell is artfully designed with a metallic finish that seems to glide across the surface, reminiscent of a starry night sky. As light and shadow change, the surface emits an iridescent, star-like glow that complements the listening experience.
20-driver configuration
The Epitome was developed with a concept of 8 electrostatic and 12 balanced armature drivers for each monitor. The 8 electrostatic drivers preserve a natural, airy feel with a quality that only electrostatic drivers can provide.
The 12 balanced armature drivers precisely cover the ultra-high, mid, and low frequency ranges. Together, the 20 drivers form an outstanding acoustic architecture that harmoniously combines electrostatic and balanced armature technology.
Epitome uses through-hole resistors and other high-quality components to build a complex five-way crossover system that ensures that audio signals from different frequency bands are transmitted accurately.
Transfers between individual frequency bands are smooth, resulting in seamless and consistent sound. Whether reproducing the complex layers of classical music or the subtle emotional nuances of vocals, the result is a precise and natural sound field.
8 electrostatic +12 balanced armature drivers from Sonion and Knowles
Four dual electrostatic drivers from Sonion, responsible for the frequency range from 10 kHz to 20 kHz and above, enhance auditory perception by adding airiness and spatial openness to the sound image.
A Knowles dual-frequency BA driver, responsible for the frequency range from 6 kHz to 12 kHz, provides the transition between high and ultra-high frequencies and ensures a natural crossover of the ultra-high frequencies.
Two Sonion dual BA drivers for the mid to high frequency range, responsible for the range from 3 kHz to 6 kHz, provide the transition between high and mid frequencies, ensuring clear and powerful instrument separation and reproduction.
Two Sonion dual midrange drivers for the 400 Hz to 3 kHz range provide a rich and emotionally expressive midrange.
A Sonion dual woofer for the 20 Hz to 400 Hz range provides dynamic and controlled bass.
Sparkling with a flowing brilliance like countless stars
Epitome features 3D-printed housings with a three-dimensional look on the top that are still comfortable to wear. To live up to the Epitome concept, iBasso uses a unique technology that evenly integrates countless ultra-fine, shimmering metal parts that glide like the vast night sky. Under different lighting angles, the housing displays a flickering gradient effect that looks like meteors darting across the sky, dazzling and mesmerizing.
Detachable copper cable with interchangeable connector system 3.5 mm SE, 4.4 mm BAL, and USB-C
Epitome uses 0.78-2-pin earphone connectors that are compatible with all cables of the same interface. It comes with a 5N mono-crystal copper litz cable and features an interchangeable plug system.
Standard connectors include 4.4 mm, 3.5 mm, and USB-C, providing ideal sound whether single-ended, balanced, or connected directly to a smartphone.
New alloy cable
Prior to the launch of Epitome, a new alloy was developed consisting of a special silver-plated wire that offers excellent sound quality. As it has not yet been fully tested for durability, iBasso has decided to offer it as a free gift along with the standard cable. (This is not a warranty part.)
