Efficient, well-designed driver configuration
ZERO:RED features a configuration with two dynamic drivers, one with a diameter of 10 mm and the other 7.8 mm. The sophisticated internal magnetic circuit structure works in conjunction with a flexible polyurethane suspension combined with an LCP liquid crystal dome diaphragm. However, the internal configuration differs fundamentally from that of the standard ZERO, enabling RED to deliver superior objective performance metrics while meeting the demands of research and development.
The same frequency-division concept is combined with a completely different dynamic driver to form a brand-new system. The 7.8-mm driver responsible for midrange and treble uses a specially tuned, ultra-fine CCAW voice coil that keeps the suspension system lightweight and ensures the resonance frequency is closer to the target curve, guaranteeing smoother reproduction. The 10-mm dynamic driver responsible for the bass precisely adjusts the number of voice coils to the requirements of the new crossover circuit; at the same time, the diaphragm structure is adapted, leading to a significant improvement in objective measurement values such as nonlinear distortion and better bass reproduction.
Precise hybrid dual-frequency crossover
Based on high-precision DLP 3D printing technology, the acoustic nozzle structure with filter function and the precisely calculated RC crossover form a hybrid dual-frequency crossover that optimally highlights the capabilities of both dynamic drivers and brings the objective indicators closer to the design target.
Outstanding objective indicators
RED’s research and development goal is entirely new for TRUTHEAR: Building on the originally outstanding objective performance metrics of ZERO, RED’s nonlinear distortion has been further optimized at higher sound pressure levels (>94 dB), and the target frequency response curve exhibits amplitude characteristics in the bass range that resemble the public preference curve, while in the frequency band above 1000 Hz, the target curve of CRINACLE IEF_Neutral is adopted.
These characteristics ensure powerful bass without compromising the sound of the higher frequency bands. Compared to ZERO, RED is relatively less dynamic but still aligns with HRTF characteristics, making RED very well-suited for long listening sessions without fatigue. Sonically, RED’s highs are bright without being harsh, delivering a warm, natural, and pleasant sound.
Another important objective factor in multi-driver earphones is phase.
The full-frequency phase of ZERO:RED is extremely consistent, and there are no convergence issues as found in conventional multi-driver earphones, thereby avoiding the unnatural listening experience caused by phase distortion.
Next-generation DLP 3D printing technology and medical-grade resin
The DLP 3D-printed cavity mold manufactured by HeyGears, combined with medical-grade, highly transparent resin and an internal coloring process, ensures printing accuracy and efficiency. This achieves the delicate acoustic nozzle structure that is difficult to achieve with conventional methods, while also ensuring a lightweight cavity mold and skin-friendly, reliable materials.
Optimized Manufacturing Technology
TRUTHEAR not only strives for excellent objective measurement values but also places great emphasis on optimizing and improving manufacturing technology; the ZERO:RED housing half continues to feature a sandwich-like structure (front housing half, decorative bezel, and a few drops of adhesive to fill the joints). Through the use of 3D printing technology, the natural, gentle radius of the bezel is directly achieved, complemented by a few drops of adhesive to fill the joints. Combined with hand-polishing and automatic gloss coating, this results in an exquisite front bezel that ensures a durable and reliable structure.
High-quality cable + flexible expandability
Four strands of high-quality silver-plated cable, combined with the universal 0.78 mm 2-pin interface (the cavity is a recessed 0.78 mm 2-pin jack), ensure excellent sound quality and expand possibilities through cable replacement.
