Efficient driver configuration

HEXA is an in-ear headphone featuring a hybrid structure consisting of one dynamic driver and three balanced armature drivers. The original intent of the design is to achieve this goal through a simple, sensible, and efficient configuration, offering users a sophisticated hybrid headphone at an affordable price.‍

A special 10-mm dynamic driver handles the bass. The sophisticated internal magnetic circuit is equipped with a flexible polyurethane suspension material and an LCP liquid crystal dome diaphragm, in line with the Truthear ZERO concept. A unique weighted voice coil serves to lower the natural resonance frequency and moderately increase the impedance, enabling it to produce the most powerful bass and meet the requirements for precise frequency distribution.

A full-range balanced armature driver made of composite material handles the midrange, which can be precisely tuned to the frequency band of the dedicated dynamic driver; the high-frequency band also closely matches HRTF characteristics and comes very close to the intended sound signature.‍

A custom-made balanced armature driver, similar to the WBFK series, handles the treble. It not only complements the frequency range but also, thanks to its fine craftsmanship, gives the HEXA a smooth, clear high-frequency response.

Precise hybrid frequency division

The acoustic waveguide structure with a filtering function, realized through high-precision DLP 3D printing technology, and the RC frequency division achieved through precise calculations ensure that the four drivers function well under their respective acoustic waveguides, bringing the HEXA’s objective index closer to the design target.

Excellent measurement results

HEXA features appropriate bass boost and a high-frequency amplitude response that covers specific HRTF characteristics. Although the bass boost is lower than that of the Truthear ZERO, HEXA offers more adequate bass reproduction thanks to its special dynamic driver, and the transition between bass and midrange is more natural.

The treble on the HEXA is very distinctive; it offers a completely different listening experience with different ear tips: with silicone ear tips, the sound is clearer and more natural, while with foam ear tips, some high-frequency resonance peaks are suppressed, making the sound softer and more refined. The different performance also affects the frequency response.

Just like the ZERO, the HEXA maintains the same phase across the entire frequency range, and none of the connection issues common in conventional multi-driver earphones occur, resulting in a natural sound without phase distortion.

Next-generation DLP 3D printing technology

HeyGears’ DLP 3D-printed housing features a proprietary high-transparency, medical-grade resin, internal coloring, and a fine surface polishing process. It enables complex, intricate sound guide structures while ensuring printing accuracy and efficiency. At the same time, it ensures a lightweight, well-fitting housing and guarantees skin-friendly and reliable materials.

A brand-new, striking, and reliable ID design

HEXA features a square yet sleek ID design that minimizes the housing volume as much as possible while ensuring wearability to achieve a lighter weight. It features a CNC-machined, anodized, and sandblasted metal front plate that reduces contact with the ear, thereby alleviating pain caused by prolonged wear.

Furthermore, the aluminum alloy front plate is secured with self-tapping screws and fixed with adhesive, eliminating the risk of it accidentally falling out.

High-Quality Cable + Extensive Customization Options

Four strands of high-quality silver-plated cable, combined with the universal 0.78 mm 2-pin plug (the earcup features a recessed 0.78 mm 2-pin jack), ensure excellent sound quality. At the same time, the replaceable cable design offers endless possibilities.
