High-quality, master-level tuning
During the development of Shanling’s new flagship player, the company experimented with countless component configurations and tuning presets, ultimately leading to the discovery of a sonic signature that perfectly aligns with Shanling’s core audio philosophy.
After several rounds of critical listening tests and rigorous validation, this exclusive tuning scheme was fully retained, resulting in the M7T Master you see today.
The Master Edition is far more than a superficial upgrade of the technical specifications. It represents a thorough evolution based on the original, leading the sound to greater maturity and more comfort during extended listening sessions. It delivers richer micro-details, a more natural sound balance, and a fuller, more immersive soundstage, making every playback of the original musical recording even more faithful.
Shanling M7T Master: A Refined Design
The Shanling M7T Master features a CNC-machined aluminum chassis with rounded edges that improve handling. Its anodized, paint-free surface preserves the chassis’s metallic appearance while offering a form factor suitable for mobile use. Its 5-inch Sharp touchscreen has a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, corresponding to a pixel density of 441 PPI. This resolution makes it easier to navigate Android 13, browse music libraries, and use compatible apps.
Two AKM DACs and High-Resolution Playback
The digital-to-analog converter stage is based on two AKM AK4498EX DACs combined with an AK4191 modulator. This architecture separates the modulation and conversion functions to precisely control the processing of audio signals. The M7T Master supports streams up to PCM 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD1024, enabling the playback of high-resolution files in various listening configurations.
Output power up to 1,020 mW
The amplifier stage offers three gain levels to adjust the available power for both in-ear monitors and full-size headphones. It delivers up to 260 mW into 32 Ω at the single-ended output and up to 1,020 mW into 32 Ω at the balanced output.
The headphone outputs include a 3.5-mm output and a balanced 4.4-mm output. The 3.5-mm jack can also serve as a coaxial SPDIF digital output to connect the player to a compatible external DAC or amplifier.
Two JAN6418 Tubes and Two Listening Profiles
The M7T Master features two JAN6418 audio tubes mounted in a shock-resistant bracket to minimize vibrations and microphony. Tube mode delivers a warmer sound with smooth contours, while transistor mode favors a clearer, more analytical sound.
Signal Processing via FPGA
The digital signal processing is based on a custom FPGA solution designed to organize the various signal stages prior to amplification. This architecture is combined with a CPAF low-pass filter and carefully selected components to ensure a coherent signal path between the digital and analog sections. The single-crystal copper conductors also contribute to the design of the signal path, while the operational amplifier stage serves as the interface between the conversion stage and the headphone amplification.
7,000-mAh battery
The player features a 7,000-mAh battery that provides up to 14.5 hours of playback via the single-ended output and up to 12.5 hours via the balanced output. In Bluetooth transmitter mode, battery life is up to 66 hours. Charging is via USB-C with support for the QC3.0 and PD2.0 protocols.
Snapdragon 665 and Expandable Storage
The M7T Master runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor, combined with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. This platform ensures smooth navigation on Android 13 and allows for the installation of playback or streaming apps. A microSD slot accommodates cards with a capacity of up to 2 TB, allowing you to expand the storage space dedicated to audio files.
Wi-Fi and Bidirectional Bluetooth
Wireless connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) with MIMO technology, as well as a Qualcomm WCN3980 module. This connection enables access to online services and compatible music apps.
Bluetooth works for both sending and receiving. When transmitting, the M7T Master supports the LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC, and SBC codecs. When receiving, it accepts LDAC and SBC, allowing the M7T Master to be used as a Bluetooth receiver with a smartphone or tablet.
Android 13
The M7T Master runs on Android 13 and offers comprehensive compatibility with music and streaming apps. Its open system allows for the installation of various playback solutions, while the touchscreen provides access to libraries, settings, and connected services. This platform continues the evolution of the M7T by combining a modernized user interface with a hardware architecture optimized for high-resolution audio files.
