High-performance dual flagship ES9039Q2M DACs

The K13 is equipped with two of ESS's latest-generation flagship DACs. They use ESS's patented fourth-generation 32-bit HyperStream architecture, which delivers higher performance at lower power consumption and further reduces digital noise inside the DAC. The result is a richer musical presentation and a cleaner, darker background.

Preamplifier and power amplifier output, the desktop decoding hub

With a wide variety of inputs and outputs, the K13 works both as a preamplifier and as a power amplifier and suits many different listening preferences. It also decodes PCM up to 768 kHz/32 bit and DSD512, so high-resolution audio signals are processed effortlessly, with rich sonic detail and an outstanding listening experience.

AUTO EQ: your ideal sound with one tap

Based on the XMOS XU316 platform, the K13 offers a specially developed PEQ* with 10 adjustable frequency bands in all working modes. Using FIIO's proprietary tuning algorithm, available in the app or the web interface*, you can match your ideal headphone curve with a single tap and then fine-tune it further.

*The PEQ can adjust audio signals up to a sampling rate of PCM 192 kHz/24 bit.

*The web version of the PEQ is available at https://fiiocontrol.fiio.com/. It is supported only with USB input and with the EQ setting switched on (not off). In all other modes, the PEQ can be adjusted through the FIIO Control app.

Fully balanced audio amplifier circuit

The entire audio chain, including the DAC, I/V conversion, LPF, preamp buffer and headphone amplifier, uses fully differential signal processing. This provides excellent interference rejection, minimal distortion and high dynamic range. The amplifier circuit also features gain control, professional headphone protection mechanisms and POP noise elimination for a robust and reliable audio experience.

Specially designed power supply

DC/AC dual power supplies

The K13 has a built-in 30 W (12 V, 2.5 A) industrial and instrumentation grade power module with low noise, high efficiency and a long service life, which supplies the circuitry with clean and abundant power. In addition, an external DC power input* lets you pair the K13 with a higher-performance linear power supply for a different sound experience.

*Supported external DC power supplies: 12 V, 2.5 A (or more than 2.5 A) with a 5.5 x 2.1 mm connector, for example FIIO's new linear power supply DARKSIDE PRO.

Multi-rail power supply for robust performance

With up to 18 low-noise LDOs and 5 DC-DC converters in total, the K13 employs a multi-rail power supply that provides strong and clean power for exceptional audio output.

Audiophile-grade components, the foundation of great sound

A custom, high-contrast, long-lasting HD LCD display* shows the current status of the device at a glance, including sampling rate, volume, gain and output mode.

The thickened unibody aluminum alloy casing, combined with a brand-new "skylight" design, continues the minimalist design language of the K11 series and adds a literal technological window into the DAC module. Flowing light and vibrant colors create a unique tech aesthetic.

Three gain levels, three independent volume curves

Different gain levels let the K13 adapt better to various kinds of IEMs and headphones for a better listening experience. In addition, the volumes of PO and PRE are memorized independently.

Overheating protection and overload protection

Protection mechanisms kick in automatically when abnormal operating conditions are detected. This avoids damage to the unit and makes it safer to use.

Adjustable RGB lighting

The RGB lighting indicates the current audio sampling rate. You can also customize its brightness, its colors and whether it pulses.

Timer shutdown from 1 to 99 minutes
