With the Shanling EH3 Desktop DAC/AMP, we make a triumphant comeback to the world of sleek desktop audio. The EH3 builds on the success of the Shanling EM5 streamer, meeting the demand for a simpler device that offers impeccable performance and elegance. Power and versatility With a power output of up to 1.9 W @ 32 ohms // 205 mW @ 300 ohms in single-ended mode and 5.3 W @ 32 ohms // 700 mW @ 300 ohms in balanced mode, the EH3 offers remarkable performance. For the most demanding headphones, however, the EM7 offers slightly more power.
Precision power supply
The Shanling EH3 features a dual power supply system that is carefully divided between the analogue and digital sections, effectively minimising interference between components to ensure a pristine audio experience.
Advanced system and controls
The Shanling EH3 is based on the Ingenic X2000 platform and features the same system and control interface as the ET3 CD transport. A central multifunction wheel is used for both volume control and menu navigation, complemented by playback and input buttons on the top panel. Users can navigate via the intuitive circular screen on the front of the unit, or use the Eddict Player app as a remote control from smartphones and tablets. The EH3 also comes with a remote control.
Unmatched connectivity
The EH3 is equipped for wireless playback and features Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi capabilities. It can act as a Bluetooth receiver and supports LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs. It also integrates seamlessly with local Wi-Fi networks and serves as an Airplay 1 or DLNA endpoint. The rear panel offers a variety of inputs and outputs, including USB, optical, coaxial and I²S HDMI connectors for DAC use, and analogue RCA inputs for amplifier-only functions.
Versatile headphone outputs
The EH3 features an impressive 4 headphone outputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of headphones. Single-ended outputs are available via both 3.5mm and 6.35mm jacks, while balanced outputs are available via 4.4mm jacks and 4-pin XLR connectors.
As a complement to the ET3
EH3 and ET3 can be seamlessly connected via the high-quality I²S connection and the new L8 cable to provide the ultimate CD and MQA CD playback experience, and have been designed to complement our ET3 CD transport.
