The Shanling CT90 was developed as a dedicated CD player and focuses entirely on extracting the purest digital signal from CDs. By eliminating unnecessary signal processing and prioritizing mechanical and electrical stability, the CT90 offers a harmonious, natural, and particularly musical listening experience.
SAA7824 + DA11 Optimized disc system
The CT90 uses the classic DA11 laser head in combination with the SAA7824 servo system and operates at standard playback speed. This highly optimized configuration ensures precise disc reading, reduced mechanical noise, and lasting reliability hallmarks of true audiophile CD playback.
MOA CD support with triple output modes
The CT90 supports MOA CDs and MOA files and offers three selectable output modes: Full Decoder (4×), Core Decoder (2×), and MOA Source Mode. This flexibility allows for precise tuning with different DAC performances for optimal sound quality.
Dedicated upsampling circuit (full-to-PCM / full-to-DSD)
Equipped with a dedicated CT7302 upsampling chipset, the CT90 can convert digital signals to PCM or DSD formats before output, ensuring optimal signal transmission to downstream DACs. Upsampling is supported via I²S, AES, and coaxial outputs; a USB output is not available.
35-watt linear power supply for sound purity
A high-quality transformer and linear power supply provide a clean, stable power supply with sufficient power reserve. Compared to switching power supplies, this design significantly reduces noise while improving sound purity, dynamics, and sonority.
Top-loading design with matched CD puck
Inspired by high-quality reference CD players, the CT90 features a top-loading mechanism with a precisely matched CD puck. This design minimizes vibration, improves rotational stability, and increases reading accuracy, while the tiltable CD cover allows for effortless operation.
Playback from USB drives with Hi-Res support
In addition to CD playback, the CT90 also supports music playback from USB storage devices, allowing it to function as a simple digital music player. It supports lossless formats up to PCM 768 kHz, DSD512, and MQA, providing flexible access to high-resolution music libraries. USB storage devices with up to 2 TB of storage capacity are recommended.
Eddict Player app control
With the Eddict Player app for Android and iOS, users can remotely control their USB music libraries and control both CD and USB playback. Shanling's SyncLink technology ensures smooth and responsive operation directly from your smartphone.
Elegant aluminum design with 4.8-inch display
The CT90 incorporates design elements from Shanling's flagship SACD players and features a sturdy aluminum chassis and a 4.8-inch widescreen display. Playback information and system settings are clearly displayed, enabling intuitive and convenient operation.
