The main goal in developing the QuestyleCMA18 Portable was to create a portable hi-fi system for laptops and smartphones that rivals the best desktop configurations.
Design and craftsmanship
The CMA18 Portable has a distinctive look that emphasises its extreme performance. The sandblasted aircraft aluminium surfaces are finished with high-gloss silver buttons and side panels, while the front and back are made of special glass with a gradient pattern and a coating to suppress RF signals. The internal amber-coloured LEDs emphasise the unrivalled design when in operation and blend seamlessly into the look of the glass cover.
Power
The Questyle CMA18 Portable's powerful drive performance is provided by four sets of patented PCT-class current-mode SiP chips, each with a peak power of up to 5W and a peak current of 2A. The high-energy current-mode amplifier technology combined with gain customisation ensures powerful and adaptable performance.
The latest XMOS XU316 platform in combination with the AK4493 DAC chip supports HD D/A conversion up to PCM768/DSD512
Four sets of in-house developed PCT patented current-mode SiP chips, CC630/CA630, ensure the best thrust and lowest power consumption in the industry

Analogue inputs with recording function - The Questyle CMA18 Portable has two stereo line-in inputs
3.5 mm (AUX IN) and 4.4 mm (BAL IN). They can be connected to any audio device that has analogue line-out outputs, such as turntable systems, preamps, mixers and more.
Once connected, the Questyle CMA18 Portable can be used as an external, lossless and powerful analogue-to-digital converter (ADC).
How to use the recording function: When the Questyle CMA18 Portable is set to AUX IN or BAL IN mode and connected via USB to a host device (any phone, tablet, computer, etc. that supports USB sound card recording), both the USB connection and REC indicator lights will illuminate, signalling that the recording function is enabled.
There are no special requirements for the recording software as long as it supports recording via external USB sound.
