Following the success of the DiscDream series, MOONDROP set out to develop a retro-inspired on-ear headphone that revives this classic form while offering true modern audio fidelity.

Old Fashioned features an oversized 40 mm dynamic driver—rare in compact open on-ear designs—achieved through precise structural stacking. By optimizing diaphragm damping and tuning the driver's resonance frequency (f₀), these headphones deliver deeper and fuller bass than is normally possible with open mini formats. The result is a warm, fatigue-free tone that preserves nostalgic charm without compromising fidelity.
Ergonomic fit with adaptable comfort
Equipped with a telescopic headband and multi-axis swivel joints, Old Fashioned remains true to traditional on-ear ergonomics while improving stability and haptic refinement. Improved damping components provide smoother swivel movement and higher-quality feedback during extension, greatly enhancing comfort and build quality beyond vintage models.
0.78 mm 2-pole replaceable cable
To increase versatility, Old Fashioned features a 0.78 mm 2-pole detachable cable with a reinforced, grooved plug structure for improved durability. Users can easily upgrade or replace cables for different setups and scenarios.
Modular, detachable design for customization
The ear cups and headband feature a modular, fully detachable system. Thanks to the ball joints, the ear cups can be removed and replaced with optional accessories such as ear hooks or neckbands, allowing for different wearing styles depending on personal preference.

The innovative open back, combined with the oversized dynamic driver, ensures excellent frequency response. Even via a standard 3.5 mm single-ended output, the Old Fashioned achieves DF-HRTF-compliant frequency characteristics, ensuring a natural, open, and detailed listening experience.
